Services include:
Assessment
Open Skies will provide an initial assessment to determine if a mental health or drug/alcohol abuse problem is present. We will work with you to identify problems and issues, as well as strengths and goals. We want to understand your concerns, needs, hopes, dreams, and strengths. We also want to know your vision for the future. We will then assist you in accessing appropriate treatment resources. If an Open Skies program or service doesn’t match your needs, we will suggest an agency or provider that may be more suitable.
Crisis intervention
Competent and caring crisis intervention and response is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your child experiences a behavioral health emergency, such as disturbed thoughts, behaviors, or moods which could threaten his or her own safety or that of others, we are here to help.
Outpatient therapy
We offer a wide array of best practices and evidence-based treatments matched to the needs and goals identified during the assessment. In addition to individual, family and group outpatient therapy, we offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, the Matrix Model, Motivational Interviewing, and treatment for youth who have caused sexual harm.
Comprehensive community support services
Our professional community support workers identify and coordinate services which enable your child to stay in the home and attend school and/or help him or her to make a smooth transition from treatment back to the home or the community. Services focus on recovery, rehabilitation and resiliency, as well as building skills for independent living, learning, working, socializing and recreation.
Behavior management services
For children with emotional, behavioral or psychological issues, behavior management specialists provide one-on-one services in the home and school to help develop, restore, and maintain appropriate behaviors and teach skills to both you and your child. Their specialized care promotes success in school and helps to avoid hospitalization, residential treatment or separation from the family.
Treatment foster care
The treatment foster care program provides specialized, 24-hour care. Highly trained and licensed treatment foster care parents provide a therapeutic, structured environment in their homes while they work with Open Skies staff to help your child make progress toward improving and managing behaviors and meeting goals. (Located in Albuquerque)
Respite care
Respite care provides a rest or break for families and caregivers. At our respite centers, children with severe behavioral problems learn behavior management and daily living skills and participate in social and recreational activities. (Located in the town of Bernalillo, and north valley and southeast Albuquerque)
Medication management
Licensed medical professionals are available to assess and evaluate your child and provide medication assessment, administration, monitoring, and education to assist in managing the effects of medication.
